Incoming first-year and transfer students have the opportunity to take a summer course at no charge! This course will be taught remotely and you can earn one credit toward graduation.

This free course, GNST 250: COVID-19: An Interdisciplinary Look at a Global Pandemic, will examine the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it has impacted the social interactions of nearly every person on the globe.  Drawing upon the expertise of E&H faculty and alumni, this course will examine the ways in which the global pandemic impacts our lives.  We will apply the perspectives of biology, politics, geography, and more.  Students will learn the importance of evaluating information, thinking critically, and engaging in dialogue with diverse peers on a timely and complex topic.

It will be offered July 20-August 7, meeting via Zoom from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with remote assignments planned for Tuesdays and Thursdays. To sign up, contact your advisor. If you aren’t sure who your advisor is, you can email New Student Experience Director Fred George at fgeorge@ehc.edu.

If you have questions about the course, email Dr. Ed Davis at edavis@ehc.edu or Dr. Christy Fleet at cfleet@ehc.edu.

We hope you join us for this engaging, timely, interdisciplinary conversation!
