Our Academic Success department is here to help you set and meet your goals!
Any student can seek assistance through our academic success department, whether you just need a little help to bring up your grades a notch, or whether you need in-depth support during an unexpectedly difficult semester. Come to the Powell Resource Center to learn more about success coaching, study strategies courses, tutoring, student-led study sessions, and peer mentoring.
You can request a tutor for any class, anytime. All you have to do is come to the PRC and ask, or fill out an online form. For classes which we know will be challenging, we offer the Supplemental Instructor program: a student who did well in the course in the past returns to attend class with you and your peers, so they can lead additional study sessions at least once a week!
If you would like to do better in your classes, but aren’t sure what you need, we can help! You can meet one-on-one with a success coach to talk about time management, study strategies, withdrawing from classes, mapping your path to graduation, or anything else related to your classroom success.
The Peer Mentoring program offers students an opportunity to meet once a week (or more!) with a mentor who is farther along in college, or in your major.
Support for writing is available to Emory & Henry students who wish to grow as writers inside and outside the classroom. During the school year, we offer assistance from peer tutors and professional tutors.
