Biography

Dr. Angelopoulou is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health Sciences at Emory and Henry College.  Dr. Angelopoulou graduated with a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Minnesota State University, Mankato MN in 1997.  She pursued a M.A. in Exercise Science at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL while completing a Graduate Assistantship in Sports Medicine completed in 1999.  Dr. Angelopoulou then went on to complete a M.S. degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida graduating in 2002.  Her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

Dr. Angelopoulou is board certified as an Orthopaedic Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.  Additionally, she has a Mastery Certificate in Manual Therapy, and is certified as a Health Fitness Instructor through the   American College of Sports Medicine.  She is currently licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of Virginia.

Dr. Angelopoulou brings a strong background of clinical experience to our program.  She has worked in sports medicine and outpatient orthopaedics for 18 years prior to joining the faculty at Emory and Henry College.  Dr. Angelopoulou has worked in sports medicine with the University of Central Florida, was the assistant athletic trainer for the Disney Wide World of Sports complex and was the Director of  Rehabilitation of a large orthopaedic practice for 10 years., where she specialized in treating orthopaedic conditions with an emphasis on spine and manual therapy.

Within the Department of Physical Therapy at Emory and Henry College, Dr. Angelopoulou is the course master for Kinesiology as well as the Musculoskeletal Disorders series of courses.
