The Office of Housing and Residence Life offers a variety of different style rooms for students to choose from. All students will be required to live on-campus unless approved for an off-campus application. All new students will be required to live in a Themed Living Community.
Elm & Hickory Halls provide modern, comfortable rooms in an attractive setting. You and a roommate will enjoy a spacious environment that is conducive to both studying and meeting friends. Elm and Hickory Halls are located on a residential quad that gives students easy access to on-campus food establishments as well as recreational and athletic facilities. Each room in both halls serves as a double room with a private bathroom and there are two laundry rooms located in each hall. There are common kitchens and trash rooms on almost all floors. Each floor will host a Themed Living Community that new students will be placed in.
The largest residence hall on campus that houses both first-year students and upperclassmen, Wiley-Jackson Hall (also known as Mawa) is popular for its access to parking and to the center of campus, placing it in easy walking distance to McGlothlin-Street Hall, a main academic building, as well as Kelly Library and Memorial Chapel. Wiley Jackson is a traditional resident hall with a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. The restrooms are considered communal or hallway style. Each room has a private sink and mirror for the residents. On each floor, there is a kitchen and living room area.
A female-only residence hall, Sullins Hall is a quiet place, yet located near “the action.” Just across the street stands two important buildings for the visual and performing arts: Byars Hall, the main academic building for the arts, and the McGlothlin Center for the Arts, a state-of-the-art facility for performance and art exhibition. Sullins has a mix of single rooms and double rooms. The restrooms are considered communal or hallway style. There is a kitchen, living room, and laundry room area located on the 1st floor.
Stuart Hall is an all-male facility located by the main entrance of campus. A two-story building, the facility has a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. Each room is either attached to a suite style room (i.e. four students to a restroom) or communal/hallway style restroom depending on the room location. Each room has a sink, mirror, and closet for the residents to share. On the main floor, residents will find a living room area with a pool table and lounge space. In the basement, there is located a full kitchen and laundry room.
Hillman Hall is a traditional-style residence hall that is popular among students who desire easy access to the King Health and Physical Education Center and to the Van Dyke Dining Hall. This residence hall boasts 80 single-occupancy rooms in a co-educational environment that is conducive to privacy and study as well as community activity. Additionally, there are four double rooms located on the second and third floor. The restrooms are considered communal or hallway style. There is one lounge located on the 1st floor and a laundry room on the ground floor.
Tall trees, sweeping lawns and classic architecture define this historic, yet comfortable residence hall located next to the main campus in the Emory Village. Weaver Hall is the main residence hall for the College’s Honors Program. Residents enjoy spacious single and double rooms, up-to-date bathroom facilities, and plentiful adjacent parking. A living room area and kitchen are located on the main floor. The laundry room is located on the ground floor.
Russell House, also known as the International Housing or Blue House, is a two story, 22 person facility designated to create an intimate living experience. The International program invites both international students and domestic students to live in this immersed environment. The facility has a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. All bathrooms are considered suite-style, which means two rooms share a restroom with one another. On the main floor, there is an open living room concept with lounge space, kitchen and dining area, and laundry room.
Prillaman House, also known as the Outdoor Program House or Yellow House, is a two story, 22 person facility designated to create an intimate living experience. The facility has a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. All bathrooms are considered suite-style, which means two rooms share a restroom with one another. On the main floor, there is an open living room concept with lounge space, kitchen and dining area, and laundry room.
Cambridge House, also known as the People Empowering Antiracist Communities Everywhere House (P.E.A.C.E. House), is a two story, 22 person facility designated to create an intimate living experience. The facility has a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. All bathrooms are considered suite-style, which means two rooms share a restroom with one another. On the main floor, there is an open living room concept with lounge space, kitchen and dining area, and laundry room.
Carter House, also known as the Spiritual Life House, is a two story, 22 person facility designated to create an intimate living experience. The facility has a mixture of single rooms and double rooms. All bathrooms are considered suite-style, which means two rooms share a restroom with one another. On the main floor, there is an open living room concept with lounge space, kitchen and dining area, and laundry room.
Located just across the street from the main campus, the Village Townhouse Apartments are students an opportunity for more independence and small community life.
Each apartment includes a shared living room and a full kitchen. There are three bedrooms with two students in each and a private bathroom located beside each bedroom. A large laundry room is located on the ground floor of the McPherson Center, which is located in the Village beside the apartment buildings.
Twenty-seven townhouses are available for residents. Students should plan accordingly when attempting to select one of these apartments.
For our upperclassmen students, we offer various houses they can choose to live in. Each house provides a private laundry area for the residents, bathrooms, HVAC, internet, and a mix of single and double occupancy rooms. Each house also provides living room/lounge areas for residents and most provide kitchen areas. The houses are located 2-3 minutes off-campus. They are:
